Glen of the Downs Golf Club is a hugely popular venue on the TopGolfer Tour, hence we return twice - for a Junior and a Senior Scratch Cup. The Peter McEvoy design provides generous tee and approach shots, but clever bunkering and undulating greens provide a tough challenge.

For the Senior Scratch, players had to work hard to contend with very slick greens. Adopting a putting style to attack yet defend, it tested the bravery of your putting stroke. The course really flexed its muscles off the blue tees, and a firm breeze throughout the day also proved havoc. This saw the CSS rise to 73 (+2).

Congratulations to Simon Bryan (+2) from Delgany Golf Club who cruised to victory in the Glen of the Downs Senior Scratch Cup by 3-shots. In tough conditions, a gross score of two under par was quite incredible. Simon now goes forward to the TopGolfer PlayOffs at New Forest later this year.

Making it a Delgany GC one-two, fellow member Karl Murray (1) kept the flag flying on 72-gross, taking 2nd place on the day. With a gross score of 73, 3rd Place went to Stephen Gethings from Co. Meath Golf Club. As an Order of Merit player, the bucket of OOM points earned sees Stephen catapult up the OOM Leaderboard into 7th place.

The next two prizes went to Glen of the Downs GC members Robert Lawless (4th Place) and Pat Doyle (Nest Nett).
