Darren Burke (6) from Portarlington Golf Club edged out Jimmy Penrose (8) from Mount Wolseley in what was an incredibly tight Kelkin Revive Order of Merit PlayOff on the Palmer Course at The K Club.

Both competitors posted level par net rounds of 72 but it was Burke’s superior back 9 that earned him victory and his place at The TopGolfer Tour Championship at Fota Island from 6th - 7th October.

There were of course three other sports up for grabs based on how finish and points allocation from the PlayOff itself. Impressively Niall O’Sullivan (6) and Brendan Martin (6) who both went into the PlayOff in strong positions underlined their season-long form by finishing 4th and 6th respectively and therefore enough points to guarentee their invites to the Tour Championship.

On the day, with Michael Kavanagh (5) out injured, the 5th and final spot at Fota was certainly up for grabs - particularly within reach were Noel Devlin (6), Karl Ryan (7), Karl O’Neill (8) and Arthur Flanagan (5). Unfortunately none could carry the form they had shown for much of the season and came up just short. This meant that Michael Kavanagh was the 5th qualifier for the Tour Championship.
