Galway Weekend Results
What better way to wrap up a hugely successful 7-month nationwide Tour than two top quality events in Galway? After thousands of kilometres and thousands of players teeing it up in 2014, we brought a close to our 2014 Tour in a sunny Co. Galway.
The Senior Scratch Cup at Galway is a long-standing ‘major’ for many in category 1 golfers, and the TopGolfer was delighted to be associated with this respected Senior Scratch again for 2014. Given the quality of the event and condition of the course, it was no surprise to see a top field of players assemble, which included 12 plus handicap golfers.
Victory went to Ronan Mullarney (+1) from Galway GC [PICTURED] after shooting superb rounds of 69-67. The heavily tipped local member lead from the start, impressively finishing out the tournament by 1-shot from Rory McNamara (+4) from Headfort GC.
Jack Hume (+4) from Naas GC took 3rd place and 4th place went to Simon Bryan (+2) from Delgany GC. A special mention must be given to Rory McNamara and Simon Bryan for both shooting course record equalling rounds of 66 in the afternoon.
