Healy Triumphs at Galway SSC
The Senior Scratch Cup at Galway is a long-standing ‘major’ for many in category 1 golfers, and the TopGolfer was delighted to include this much respected Senior Scratch into the 2013 Tour Schedule.
It’s no surprise that a quality field of players assembled, which included 16 plus handicap golfers.
On a total of 139, victory on the day went to Stephen Healy (+2) from Claremorris Golf Club. Superb rounds of 72-67 was good enough to win by one shot from Eugene Smith (+2) from Ardee Golf Club. Proving his consistent form throughout the season, Stephen won our very first and very last Senior Scratch Cups on the 2013 Tour – namely the Fota Island SSC and Galway SSC.
As Stephen had already qualified for the TopGolfer PlayOffs, his invitation goes to Eugene Smith.
Both finishing on a total of 143, 3rd place went to Steffan O’Hara (+1) from Co. Sligo, and 4th place went to Geoff Hopkins (+1) from Skerries Golf Club.
