In what were testing conditions for the morning before the sun swept across the links, the field competing in the TopGolfer Senior Scratch at Enniscrone played some superb golf. Coming out on top was Derek Basquill (3) of Enniscrone who had to use all his local nouse to secure an excellent score of 74 (1 over par) to take the title by two shots ahead of John Timony (scratch) of Headfort GC and Alan Moran (2) of Tuam both of whom came home in 76 strokes. Des O’Rourke (2) of Clonmel GC was fourth with a score of 77. The Standard Scratch was 74.

This was a tough day on the links if you teed off before lunchtime but there were scores to be had. The links was bone dry and the ball was travelling so the par 5’s were where many who had a good card had taken their chances. It was a fantastic day and thanks to everyone who joined us. Derek will represent the competition and club with great distinction we’re sure when he joins all our other two winners to compete in the TopGolfer Tour Championship in October. Congratulations Derek.
