Kavanagh wins TopGolfer Junior Scratch at Woodenbridge

Noel Kavanagh (5) of Arklow Golf Club matched the new course record at Woodenbridge with a scintilating 69 in the TopGolfer Junior Scratch Cup to take the title by 4 strokes. On a perfect day for golf, Noel went out in level par and came back in -2 and became the latest TopGolfer Champion to join the Tour Championship taking pace at Carton House on October 16th & 17th.

Runner-up was another Arklow member Brian Kelly (6) who’s excellent 73 just edged out Declan Kilroy (5) of Elm Park with his 74.Kevin Monaghan (6) of Wicklow Golf club was fourth with a score of 74, The winner of the Betfair nearest the pin prize was Niall Murphy who knocked it stiff to 6 1/2 inches.

There were 106 competitors who teed it up in Woodenbridge and the SSC was 71. Thanks to everyone who competed and helped make the day one of our most enjoyable of the tour. The golf course was as superb as always, just gutted we couldn’t play ourselves.
