McCormack Shines at Castletroy SSC
Under a watchful eye of GUI Munster Team selectors, a quality field of top amateur golfers assembled to impress in advance of the 2013 Interprovincial championships this July.
The TopGolfer Tour is very proud to be involved with the Senior Scratch Cup at Castletroy Golf Club this season. This is an incredibly prestigious event with past winners reading like a list of Ireland’s Golfing Royalty - Fred Daly, Harry Bradshaw, Jimmy Bruen, Joe Carr and Des Smyth. And it’s clear to see why this is such a popular event – impressively manicured fairways, slick greens to test the best and a proactive Competitions Committee.
After rounds of 68-75, plus 2 handicapper Eddie McCormack (pictured in action) stormed home to victory to join this illustrious list of winners. A total of 143 gave the man from Galway a 3-shot victory from Fota Islands Keith Crowley. 3rd place was Ed Hickey from Shannon GC, whos total of 146 was mainly carved of out with an impressive opening 67. Gavin Smith (Clonmel GC) and Daniel Brennan (Shannon GC) took the remaining top 5 places respectively.
