A brilliant second round of 72 on a windy afternoon at Malahide Golf Club was more than enough to earn Bryan McSweeny (2) the title at the TopGolfer Senior Scratch Cup today. The Woodbrook member added to his first round 74 to win by a huge 5 strokes and secure his place at the Tour Championship in October.

As it turned out, there was something special happening in the last group of the day. Bryan’s playing partners Michael Brett (1) of Portmarnock came in runner-up with a total of 151 and was followed in third by Geoffrey Lenehen (1) also of Partmarnock GC with a score of 153. The nearest the pin winner was Barry Forsyth who’s ball was recorded at 57”.
