Reeve Whitson is TopGolfer at NI Strokeplay Championship

Reeve Whitson (+2) from Mourne GC finished -1 for his two rounds at Galgorm Castle to take the title of TopGolfer at the Northern Irish StrokePlay Championship. It was Reeve’s superb second round 70 adding to his opening 73 which made the difference as he finished in the rain and avoided what looked like a playoff between Ian Kettyle (+1) of Rathmore and Daniel Beattie (+1) of Castlerock who both finished level par for the championship. Simon Ward (+2) of County Louth finished in 4th with a score of +1.

Reeve wins not only a Callaway Diablo Tour Edge Driver to his specification, but also an invitation to the TopGolfer Tour Championship taking place in Carton House on October 15th & 16th where he will compete over 36 holes of the Montgomerie Course against our 29 other tour winners.

On a day which was largely warm and sunny, the parkland course at Galgorm was playing in ideal conditions for good scoring, but it was the pin locations which offered a stiff test and defended the course against anyone going really low.
