Local man Seamus McEnery battled the evening downpours to take victory in the Dromoland Senior Scratch. The early pace setter was Stephen Moloney from Castletroy, who took advantage of glorious morning conditions to shoot 78, which included a superb level par front nine.

In the shadows of the 5-star Dromoland Castle Hotel, players battled the elements all day: tough winds, quick greens, testing pin positions and the 6,824 yards Championship layout. Local knowledge was an evident bonus on this tough day, as Tony Cleary, also from Dromoland came 3rd with 79 gross and 4th place went to Paul O’Brien from Lahinch.

The Betfair Nearest the Pin winner was Paul O’Neill from Shannon GC. The CSS was 72 and the competition was reduction only.
