TOPGOLFER IRISH MATCHPLAY SERIES

To celebrate our 10th year, we are delighted to unveil the TopGolfer Irish Matchplay Series 2019, a brand new matchplay series dedicated to golfers with a handicap of 9 or better.

TO ENTER: All players will be sent an entry form link to their email in February 2019, with entry given to the first 64 entries. If successful, the competitor will be sent a link to TopGolfer paypal account, where an entry fee of 30 Euro per player is to be processed.

For round 1, golfers will be grouped by province and handicap bracket, where possible. The draw for round 1 will be unveiled on Friday 1st March 2019.

Entry is limited to 64 golfers, on a first come first served basis. If players are competing in the Flogas Order of Merit 2019, an additional 500 OOM points will be awarded for OOM competitors.

The format is like any club matchplay event, where golfers will have a home or away match draw until they reach the semi-final and final stage, which will be hosted at a leading Irish golf resort.

The final four competitors who reach the semi-final stage will be awarded a place in the Flogas OOM PlayOffs on Sunday 15th September, with the overall TopGolfer Irish Matchplay Champion awarded a place at the 2-day TopGolfer Tour Championships, taking place at Druids Glen Resort on 28th & 29th September 2019.

The golfer whose name is on the top of the draw will have the home draw at his golf club. That golfer is responsible for organising the fixture date and hosting the visiting golfer’s green fee at their club. Both players are to play off their GUI handicap on that day (not handicap of start of tournament) and full handicap difference is to be used, with shots awarded as per the club scorecard. The visiting golfer is awarded 1-up on the first tee.

To ensure the smooth running of the event, a strict deadline has been put in place. All matches must be played before this time. In the event of a match not being completed or any bye being awarded due to injury etc, Round 1 and Round 2 matches will be decided by a coin flip by TopGolfer staff. All other rounds must be played before the deadline.

DEADLINE DATES FOR 2019:

Round 1: 64-qualifiers home or away match draw - deadline Sun 5th May 2019.

Round 2: Last 32 home or away match draw - deadline Sun 16th June 2019.

Round 3: Last 16 home or away match draw - deadline Sun 28th July 2019.

Round 4: Quarter Finals home or away match draw - deadline Sun 1st September 2019.

Round 5: Semi-Finals - Sunday 8th September 2019 @ Moyvalley Golf Resort.

Round 6: Finals - Sunday 8th September 2019 @ Moyvalley Golf Resort.

The tournament is managed and promoted by by TopGolfer Tour Ltd, with all decisions being final and no refunds permitted.
