Change to Winter Series Final Positions

At the request of one of the team members, the card for Team Leeds (Ian Fitzgerald & Maurice May) at The K Club on Sunday was re-checked.

It was found that an error had been made in converting the gross score to the net on the 10th hole. The outcome of this was to change their final net score from 65 to 66.

This change has effected the final positions on the day and consequently the final leaderboard for the series.

Team Leeds had been in the runners-up position for the series, a position which carries the prize of 2 fantastic CITIZEN Watches. They have now dropped out of the prizes to finish joint 6th.

Going the other way were Paraic Connolly and David Cameron who move up to finish with 950 pts to take 2nd place and claim those great prizes. Congratulations to the guys who had gotten off to such a great start with their win in Event 1.

There were some small changes to 2 other teams final positions but none of which effected any prize winners. Team Handsome moved to 5th from 6th and Team Duffy Canning move from 6th to 5th.

We’d like to say how just how commendable and honorable it was of Ian Fitzgerald to contact us and encourage us to re-check their team card, knowing that it would mean losing out on prizes. As golfers, we pride ourselves on loving a game that exhorts and promotes such integrity, and players like Ian & Maurice reinforce our belief in this association through their actions. Their honesty is to be hugely commended. It makes a delightful change from those who bicker over prizes.
