The TopGolfer Tour has now entered into its final stretch of events for 2013, and there’s an obvious appetite to secure the final spots at the TopGolfer PlayOffs at Concra Wood, and the TopGolfer Tour Championships at The Heritage Resort.

Over 80 golfers teed it up in the Rathsallagh Junior Scratch Cup yesterday, which was a superb turnout for a Friday event. Over 50 golf clubs were represented, as golfers travelled from Belfast, Galway, Kerry, Tipperary, Cork, Sligo and every county in Leinster.

Not long after their Open Week and Pro-Am, Rathsallagh Golf Club was in its usual pristine condition but a stiff breeze was always going to provide a good challenge.

Victory went to Stewart Crowe from Elm Park Golf Club, after an incredible level par 72 gross. Stewart now goes forward to the TopGolfer PlayOffs at Concra Wood this October.

Having been pipped on the back 9 at our last Tour event at Mount Wolseley, Keith Cohalan from Ballybunion Golf Club must once again settle for 2nd place. But Keith’s recent successes has seen him storm up to the top of the Kelkin Revive Order of Merit leaderboard, closing in on Stephen Finlan who has been leading front the front all season.

Third to fithy places were decided by countabacks, with finishing places in the prizes going to: 3rd Derek McGrath (Lucan GC), 4th Willie Kelly (Killerig GC), and 5th to John Rogers (Mountrath GC).
