Murphy is victorious at Lee Valley
After 5-years, Lee Valley JSC is now firmly positioned as one of our best attended and most enjoyable events each Tour season, attracting the best Junior Scratch golfers from Munster and afar. Lee Valley truly is one of the finest golf courses in Munster, with brilliant hospitality and a prestigious title that golfers battle hard for. As a bonus, the skies turned blue and the competitors enjoyed perfect golfing conditions.
Victory went to Dan Murphy (6) from Youghal Golf Club. Dan’s round of 75-gross from the blue tees was a terrific score on a long championship layout. Runner up on the day was Noel O’Mahony from East Cork Golf Club, who posted a fine round of 76-gross.
A large number of players shot 77-gross, which went to countback’s to decide final prize positions. Claiming these prize positions were: 3rd James Burns (Bandon GC), 4th Killian McCarthy (Fern Hill GC), 5th Seamus Cronin (Blarney GC).
Other prize winners on the day were: Best Nett Eamonn Collins (Bandon GC) 68 Nett; Best Lee Valley Player Ger Kirby 78-gross.
